The New Dorothy News Is Here.
Hey, Dorothy!
I was hoping to have a shiny new video podcast waiting for you today. Instead, I learned something important:
I still suck at video podcasting.
And strangely enough, that fits perfectly with today’s episode.
This week, I’m talking about learning to suck at something, and being willing to stay bad at something long enough to get better. At 62, I’m still learning new things, and apparently talking naturally to a camera is going to require a little more practice.
The good news? I’m pretty happy with the audio. So the podcast is up, even if my face didn’t make the cut this week.
And there’s plenty more waiting for you on The Dorothy Society this week:
• A song I first heard when I was 13 suddenly sounds completely different at 62. I think I finally understand what Billy Joel was trying to tell me all those years ago.
• Somewhere along the way, I stopped giving little things permission to ruin my day. I’m not sure exactly when it happened, but getting older seems to have changed the size of the things I’m willing to worry about.
• What if the decision you’ve been struggling with isn’t as complicated as you’ve made it? I’ve found a way of looking at big choices that strips away a surprising amount of the noise.
• And I’ve been gatekeeping one of my favorite travel secrets for years. If you hate ironing, hate hotel irons, and don’t want a steamer taking up half your suitcase, this one is for you.
Listen to the new podcast, then come see what else we’re talking about this week.
